A coaching institute where
every student is known by name.
Compass Learning — formerly BoardPlusJEE — is a small-batch coaching institute in Sector 50, Gurugram. We prepare students for JEE Advanced, JEE Main and BITSAT, and the Class XI–XII board syllabus is covered in the same schedule.
Why we started
After many years of teaching JEE students — first at big institutes, then one-on-one — we saw the same thing again and again. Bright students joined large coaching batches with high hopes, and within a few months many of them started falling behind. Not because the syllabus was too hard for them, but because nobody noticed when they started falling behind.
Batches were too big. Teachers were always in a hurry. The focus was only on finishing the syllabus. Students stopped asking doubts so that they would not stand out. By the time the weak topics showed up — often in a test just before the exam — there was no time left to fix them properly.
Compass Learning is the coaching we wanted those students to have. Small batches. Senior teachers who take every class themselves. Weekly tests that catch weak topics early. Real attention to each student's progress — not just the batch average.
What we believe
Understanding first
Solving ten questions properly is better than rushing through a hundred. A concept learnt properly the first time does not need to be learnt again.
Discipline, every day
JEE preparation is not about last-minute cramming. It is steady, daily work for one or two years. We help students build that routine.
Feedback on time
Regular tests, doubts cleared the same day, and timely correction. A weak topic found in October can be fixed. A weak topic found in March is hard to fix.
Every student is known
Three senior teachers — Maths, Chemistry, Physics — and small batches. We know each student's weak topics, pace and temperament, and we teach accordingly.
Who Compass is for
Students who want to understand concepts, not just mug up. Students who need more than school, but do not want the pressure of a coaching factory. Class XI, Class XII and droppers who are serious about JEE Main, JEE Advanced or BITSAT.
